We're pleased to announce that we'll be showing the Film "Bidder 70" on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at UUFCC, here in Port Charlotte! As you may know, It's the story of how UU Tim DeChristopher became a climate activist by using civil disobedience to disrupt a Gas and Oil auction of public lands! This will be our first CAT related activity, and we're very excited! Stay tuned for more details! Jack Harkins

Please send this or similar email to any UU congregation that may be interested in starting or registering a UU Climate Action Team in the nationwide UU CAT Network: --------Dear {NAME} --------I am contacting you on behalf of the Unitarian Universalist United Nations Office (UU-UNO) Climate Change Initiative regarding the development of Climate Action Teams (CATs). Climate action teams are UU groups dedicated to raising awareness about, and acting against climate change within and outside of the congregation. --------The CAT project goal is the adoption of CATs by congregations throughout the UU community. Climate Action Teams will transform the already passionate body of UU environmentalists into a larger, unified network. --------CATs will stay connected to each other through online tools and periodic phone conferences. Through the CAT network, UU environmentalists will share local news, resources, and have joint events. Our office will keep your congregation updated regarding networking resources as they develop. --------I am contacting you to encourage your congregation to adopt your own Climate Action Team. Through this group, your congregation will join a growing UU network and help tackle one of the most pressing issues of our time. I have attached to this email further information about CATs and how you can incorporate one into your congregation. --------If your congregation already has a CAT, please consider participating so you can be networked with other CATs, making all our UU climate efforts more productive. --------CONTACT: If you are interested in establishing a CAT, to register an existing CAT, or for any questions, please contact Nicole Tiedeman at . --------Thanks so much and we look forward to hearing from you.
