COP21 INFORMATION

HERE is the list of heads of state that spoke on Nov. 30. Each has 3-5 minutes. Obama spoke at noon. HERE is detailed COP21 information, HERE is the UNFCCC site, HERE is the virtual tour, HERE is the virtual participation link, HERE is Christiana Figureres (Executive Secretary UNFCCC).

UUA Credentialed Observers

It is important for UUs to be credentialed observers in order to raise our voice as UUs in the international community of climate activists.  The Action of Immediate Witness AIW (2015) explicitly mentions this. See HERE for the (long) history behind the 2015 UUA credentials, notably involving the proactive steps taken by the UU-UNO.

PARIS CLIMATE CONFERENCE "SIDE EVENT" PANEL

Much activity of observers to the Conference is attending side events and networking. The complete list of side events by NGOs is HERE.

There was a panel on Saturday Dec 5 on INDCs with equity/justice emphasis, with Rev. Peggy Clarke and me participating:

INDC side event at COP 21/CMP 11
Examination of how nations have and should consider equity and justice in setting INDCs. This event will examine how nations have and should set INDCs on the basis of justice, the role of contrarian obstruction, and recommend a mechanism needed to assure that nations set INDCs on the basis of their fair share of safe global emissions.
