Mitigation to Reduce Global Warming - IPCC Report
MITIGATION OF CLIMATE CHANGE - IPCC report
MITIGATION of climate change means taking climate risk-management action to reduce the future impacts of global warming and climate change. There are many possible actions, from individual action to corporate action to local action to national action to an international treaty for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, all of which need to increase substantially in a portfolio of actions to lessen the increasingly dangerous impacts of climate change.
The detailed account of climate mitigation "What we can do" is HERE.

The 2014 IPCC Mitigation Report, the Summary of which is here and is posted below, contains the most authoritative and exhaustive compendium available.
“Climate policies in line with the two degrees Celsius goal need to aim for substantial emission reductions,” [the WG3 co-chairman] Edenhofer said. “There is a clear message from science: To avoid dangerous interference with the climate system, we need to move away from business as usual.” Otherwise, although developing countries will be hit hardest by climate impacts, developed countries (including the US) will be hit very hard. For example: "Climate change could devastate US crop yields". There is no safe haven.
The 2014 IPCC Mitigation Report chapter list is below, available for free download. It updates the 2007 IPCC Mitigation Report, archived at the bottom of the page.
