People's Climate Change March - Washington DC - April 29, 2017

The next People's Climate March is being organized to protest President Trump's agenda of attacking climate action and promoting fossil fuel development.

Climate activist Bill McKibben, the co-founder of 350.org, wrote in a story inRolling Stone magazine that the purpose of the march was "to show the election didn't cancel physics."

Great March for Climate Action

On March 1, 2014 climate patriots set out from Los Angeles, CA, and walked 2,980 miles across America to Washington, DC, inspiring and motivating the general public and elected officials to act now to address the climate crisis. This was the largest coast-to-coast march in American history.

Republicans and anti-science ignorance: Nature editorial Last Updated on 2017-01-16 08:09:51 Nature, the science magazine, wrote a scathing editorial in 2011, called Into Ignorance. It describes the increasingly anti-science Republican attitude exhibited in pushing their bill to prevent the Environmental Protection Agency from regulating greenhouse-gas emissions, which the agency declared on the basis of reliable scientific evidence to be a threat to public welfare in 2009. The Science editorial says: "...Republicans on the House of Representatives' energy and commerce committee have made clear their disdain for climate science. At a subcommittee hearing on 14 March, anger and distrust were directed at scientists and respected scientific societies.
