Bangkok and Barcelona Climate Change Talks - 2009

NEWS: Bangkok and Barcelona Climate Change Talks - 2009

Pre-Copenhagen UN climate change talks were held at Bangkok between 28 September and 9 October 2009. Here is the description:  "Discussions will focus, firstly, on what efforts the newly industrialising countries (China, India, Brazil, etc.) are prepared to make to curb the increase of their emissions. Secondly, they will focus on the extent to which industrialised countries are prepared to support developing countries to reduce emissions and to make the necessary adjustments to respond to the changing climate conditions" (Wikipedia).

The IISD Reporting Services (IISD RS) produced reports from the Bangkok meeting.

Further Pre-Copenhagen talks are being held in Barcelona on November 2-6. Here is the first Barcelona report. "The last negotiating session before the historic UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December kicked off Monday in Barcelona, Spain. The meeting in Barcelona (2 to 6 November) follows on the UN Climate Change Talks in Bangkok (28 September to 9 October), which saw increasing convergence, streamlining of negotiating text and narrowing down of options for a comprehensive, fair and effective international climate change deal."
